20/20

Thursday, December 5, 2013

I'm super excited for JTs concert tonight in Houston.  Seeing that Tom Ford designed JT's wardrobe I think it's only fit that V dress accordingly but he doesn't want to! He wants to wear jeans and a hoodie which is fine I suppose.  I on the other hand have three outfits to choose from.  It depends on how I feel when I get home and how much time I have to get ready.  It's supposed to drop 15 degrees by the time 5 PM hits so that changes everything. If I had my way he would choose from the following 3 outfits for tonight's event.  He has that European thing going for him so he looks great in fitted, tailored clothing. Anyhow, he dresses perfectly fine now but this is a "for instance".   What do you think? I'd probably do the look for dress since these items are pretty pricey but then again it's OK to splurge once in a while right?  I guess you're going to have to wait and see what we decide to wear.

Babymoon

Wednesday, December 4, 2013

Last month V and I went on our babymoon.  When I first mentioned it he had no idea what it was.  Who doesn't know what a babymoon is?! Craziness.  Since it involved traveling he was good to go.  We hadn't taken a vacation since our trip to TangierMorocco last summer so we were long over due.  We settled on Maui since we had a ton of points to use for our flight and hotel.  We stayed at the Sheraton Maui.  The room was nice but pretty standard.  I'm used to nicer resort rooms.  My favorite one so far has been Excellence Playa Mujeres.    I loved it there!

The weather was nice while we were there.  We relaxed, enjoyed time on the beach and the pool.  I am not drinking (obvi!) so I settled for fruit smoothies and juices by the pool.  I usually avoid drinking by the pool anyway because I get super bloated, but this time it didn't really matter.  Maui was nice and relaxing not as pretty as I thought it would be but nice regardless.  We drove up Mt. Haleakala and we hiked.  People recommend driving in for the sunrise or sunset but we went around 10 AM.  It's  like a 2.5 hour drive.  You're 10,000 feet above sea level once you're up there so driving through the clouds was pretty cool but kind of scary.  We drove the road to Hana, a registered historic place, and stopped along the way to see the waterfalls and the different landscapes.  On the way there the first stop was in Paia and we stopped by the Paia Fish Market and the mahi-mahi burger was delicious! The food was really good and not as expensive as I thought it was going to be.  We also loved Kimo's in Lahaina.  Overall we had a great time.  There were so many families and babies so we are definitely excited to take Baby K on a trip next year.

Pregnant life

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

I am 25.5 weeks and I have a new found respect for single moms.  Aside from having to maintain a household and raise a child they are responsible for taking off their own clothing.  I don't know how they do it.  I'd probably stay married just so my husband can help me take off my pants . . . . and my boots.  When I look down I can't see my vay jay jay anymore, so at this point I'm not really sure when to schedule my next bikini wax.  Oh, bikini waxes are perfectly safe my doctor said.  The reality is I didn't ask my doctor, I looked online and everyone said it was ok.  At this point my doc probably thinks I'm a total ditz, which I am totally blaming on pregnancy brain.  Sometimes I find myself starting the same sentence 3 or 4 times.  My husband and I work in the same building so he drives.  I found myself confused on a two way street the other day.   I wasn't sure which lane to turn onto from a right turn.  Everyone keeps telling me I have this glow, I think they're referring to the "pregnancy glow" but the reality is I spend a lot of money on bronzer, a combination of Guerlain's Terracotta and Terracotta Sun in the City (no longer available).  I have yellow undertones so I tend to look pale even though I am the perfect shade of olive.  I have not purchased any maternity clothes so I have been wearing my jeans underneath my belly and holding them together with a hair tie, if that's not creative and innovative then I don't know what is.  I rely on my scrubs for work on some days and other days I rotate between three pairs of trousers that still fit.  I just don't feel like spending $196 on this perfect pair of maternity J. Brand jeans I found at bloomies and I hate the empire tops they sell at those maternity stores.  Ugh.  The good thing is I wear a lot of Vince, A.L.C and Joie and they run a bit big to begin with and they are flowy so I haven't had to buy any tops.  ASOS and Topshop have a lot of cute maternity clothes online so I may buy a few pieces when I totally need to.

Ok that's my rant for now.  Stay tuned to see what I find to wear for the Holidays!

Now I completely understand why Kim K looked a hot mess during her pregnancy.  It's because she had no clothes to wear! I take back all the negative things I said about your cankles Kimmy.
