For the love of Yeezus

Saturday, January 13, 2018

I love Kanye . . . LOVE, however this Yeezy line is killing me  . . . . killing me! Sweat pants, leggings, t shirts and hoodies?! So before you start pre ordering your season 6 pieces . . . set to ship out March 1st, I am going to show you my favorite season 5 pieces.  They can be yours without spending a fortune or in my case without spending a dime.  I guarantee you have at least three pieces of his collection in your bottom drawer. Seriously though good for Kanye, only he can charge you an arm and a leg and get away with it!

I actually have tried ordering some of his shoes before.  I've been on the wait list twice at bergdorfs and each time I cannot seem to get my hands on them but trust I will be on the lookout for any sale times . . . Barneys and Bergdorf's carry some of his pieces.  I have my eye on the Yeezy stretch-suede bootie

OOTD deets below . . . you can click on the pic collage at the bottom for links . . .I finally learned how to image map and make the image "clickable".  YAY!

The mud rats are not season 5 but wanted to include . . . they are SOLD OUT.  I don't believe it.  They seriously look like the shoes my high school gym teacher used to wear.  I hate clunky sneakers, but I love Kanye.

Shoefie

Saturday, November 5, 2016

It's the weekend!!!! One must brunch. Had a lovely Saturday with my family celebrating my sister's vegan anniversary. She's been a vegan for one year, no turning back she says.  We drank, we ate and we were merry. A fun Saturday afternoon.  We ate at Benjy's on Washington.  They have pretty good vegan options and we like the vibe in general.  Super comfy and kid friendly.

I'm going to dedicate this post to my shoes.  They are my fab find of the week, $34 at Macy's! I was walking through Macy's yesterday on my way up get my eyebrows done and there they were. I copped a pair. Love. Love.  I love this jumpsuit, I try to wear it any chance I get.  The shoes are actually very comfortable, I walked in them all afternoon.  I really do love them, I plan on wearing them all season long.

I hope everyone had a fun Saturday!

Nudes, nudes, nudes

Saturday, September 17, 2016

Hiiiii!

It's so hard to get date night with my boo now with two little boos.  We were able to squeeze one in last month for Houston Restaurant Weeks.  We went to B&B butchers and it was really good!  You'll love it if you're into eating meat and all that, it's really good.

I really love neutrals.  I tried to incorporate color the summer of 2012 and that worked out well but I just really, really love black, white, gray and nudes.  That's pretty much it.

I love this Theory Parieom Top.  I love the twist back detail.  I'm also in love with these jeans, a few season's old, but they are great and they can easily be transitioned into your fall wardrobe.  Similar here and here.   And of course my love for nudes doesn't stop with clothing, my accessories reflect similar taste.  How many pairs of shoes and bags of the same palette do you need? All of them DUH! There's different shades.  I love a good nude shoe and this pair of Louboutin's is probably one of my most comfortable.

I guess we'll see when our next date night is, I already know what I'm wearing (lol). In the meantime I'll try to blog more often.

One Month

Saturday, May 21, 2016

I cannot believe it's been one month since our little boy was born.  These pics were taken a day before he was born on our last date night before baby.  Happy monthaversary baby Liam! We love you!

On our last pregnant date night we went to The Rouxpour.  It was pretty good.  William ordered crab cakes.  They were not on the menu but they were able to accommodate his order and he was very happy.  I had the oysters and wedge salad.  Yummy!  My contractions had started during lunch, but I wasn't sure yet but by dinner I knew.   I had three while having dinner and by 3:30 AM I was having one every 5 minutes.  AHH!

I miss my belly sometimes.  I'm like one of those crazy women who would probably have like 10 kids just because she loves being pregnant.  I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens!!

My modern family

Thursday, April 7, 2016

I loooove Modern Family.  I like watching the reruns and marathons on USA.  I've recently discovered that I am a lot like Claire.  NOOOOOOO!!! My hubby has some Phil like qualities but not so much, he's way cooler and not as oblivious.  I'm competitive, a bit uptight and some may even say I can be quite narcissistic.  Qualities that I am not proud of . . . qualities that Claire has.  NOOOOO!! I used to be carefree and laid back, I'm not sure when I started becoming so type A.  So there you have it, judge me as you will.

I find that in my community and by "my" I mean the Hispanic community, I am constantly being judged for working so much.  My hubby teleworks so he spends the majority of his time at home with our toddler and I work 7 days a week.  I have a business but if I don't see patients that day, guess what? I don't have money so I do relief work 2 or 3 days out of the week.  For some reason people think that is really weird.  Why is it weird? because I am a woman? because society views a man working out of the house to support his family the norm? so when a woman does it, it's not right? Is that what it is? I don't understand.  I still come home and cook.  I still come home and take care of my baby and my hubby on some days our son comes to work with me in the office.  I don't understand all the judgment.  Since I am pregnant with my second I have decided to alter my schedule a bit and I also decided to stop working on Sundays.  My last day is May 1.  I have to be able to balance two kids, a home and work, which I plan to do magnificently by the way.  Recently, I had a Sunday patient tell me that I should be at home and not working on a Sunday, ok well maybe you should stop coming in on Sundays.  Right after telling me this he decides he wants me to see his entire family.  That same day.  So you didn't mean what you said about me working on Sundays then? Is that it?  Women say to me: I could never do that to my family.  Do what? Provide for them? Sacrifice for them? I don't understand the double standard.  I really don't.  People say how modern we are because my husband is at home. What does that even mean?! He works from home.  He's not a stay at home dad and even if he was who cares? That's our choice and we are happy and satisfied with our lives.  I think we are lucky that we have flexibility, how many people can bring in their two year old into the office with them? and how many can save money on day care? and I am not dependent on other family members to watch him.  I think it's great!  People need to get it together.

Tea anyone?

Saturday, March 26, 2016

Last Sunday my sister took me to the St. Regis for tea as my birthday gift. We had a lovely time. Sandwiches, scones, patisseries and tea. What's not to like? A lot of women were dressed up.  There were a few in jeans and some were even wearing hats. We opted for simple dresses and heels. Nothing fancy. We were there from 3-5. We ate and chatted. It was fun! At one point I was sitting there as my sister went to the restroom and I started fantasizing about Drake of course, being at the St. Regis and all.  So here's how my daydreaming went down.  I pictured my sister coming out of the restroom, running into Drake in the hallway and telling him it was my birthday and then Drake coming into the tea room, meeting me, hugging me and then we would end this perfect encounter by taking a selfie.  Well, that didn't happen.  Haha! Later on I realized Drake had been in town and performed at a block party so maybe it just wasn't meant to be otherwise he would have met me and probably fallen in love with me as many do and I'm married, with a son and pregnant.  I couldn't handle a tabloid scandal . . . sigh.

Night of Mystery

Monday, March 21, 2016

On Saturday we hosted a murder mystery party for my 34th birthday. I'm almost 34!!! I can't believe it.  I'm 33 weeks pregnant and 34 so what to do? What to do? I've always wanted to host one. So we did. We participated in one on our honeymoon and even though it was during dinner in a cruise it was still lots of fun.
I knew I wanted a 20s theme so I began my online search. I found one on nightofmystery.com  There were no online reviews but the website had good reviews posted so I took a chance. The instructions were pretty straight forward though it was pretty detailed. I liked it. Everyone had a great time. We wanted to keep everything authentic but it was soo much work. Lol. So we had mini quiches, penko shrimp, spanikopita, spring rolls, salad and lasagna. Random I know but it was good and we were hungry and we ate it.
Everyone had a great time and a few people solved the mystery. I did not. I was completely off. Lol. It was so much fun!!  Everyone dressed up and had amazing outfits.  I loved night of mystery, they even provided wanted posters and labels.  It was great!

Baby makes 4!

Tuesday, December 22, 2015

It's been so long since I've blogged but I will be better about it . . . so to get back into the swing of things I decided to post some of our recent family/pregnancy photo shoot.  This year our Christmas card doubled as our pregnancy announcement.  Diana Simonetta took our photos and we could not have been happier.  She was so good at getting Niko to focus and look at the camera and she got really good shots of him.  I especially liked how efficient she was, the shoot took about an hour and she got so many good shots.  She's very professional and very nice and sweet.  I kept emailing her and she was so good at responding . . . during the Thanksgiving holiday! She was amazing.  She took our pictures at Hermann Park in late afternoon.  We were very happy with the finished product.

I am 20 weeks along and we feel very blessed and are so excited for Niko to have a little sibling!

On Me: For love & lemons lace maxi, Luau dress

Pretty in pink

Wednesday, May 6, 2015

Over the weekend my little boo and I went to his little friend's first birthday party.  It was so much fun and Niko was walking around everywhere.  He's sooo cute!  We decided to both wear pink since it was a little girl's first bday party.  Niko hates wearing shoes, hates it.  He wears socks everywhere or is barefoot.  He has a few pairs of shoes but refuses to wear them.  I can't imagine someone not loving shoes! I looooove shoes.

I opted for a pink jumpsuit.  I love jumpsuits.  I had it tailored a bit.  Raised the hem and adjusted the back.  Since I am short and have a short torso the top portion of jumpsuits fit a little big.  I want to give a shout out to my tailor Nhu, she's awesome!!

It was a fun party and the food and treats were delicious.  We had a great time.  I hope everyone is enjoying their week!

Easter

Sunday, April 12, 2015

I work every day, every single day.  On the weekends however I only work 4 hour days so that gives me the majority of the day to spend with my little family.  We felt a little homesick today since it was Easter and we didn't get to spend in in the DMV with my in laws but luckily we are going in two weeks for V's bday so we had our own version of Easter dinner at Niko Niko's.  We had so much fun, let's say that every day is a new adventure with our little Niko.  Last week he was scared of strangers at Nordstrom Rack but today he was making fast friends at the restaurant.  He's so cute and funny and his little mannerisms crack me up.  He's such a divo too! We had a good little dinner and we all wore white and blue, Greece colors.  All in all it was a good day and Niko ate his first pita today.  Hope everyone had a good Easter!

P.S. The Sangria at Niko Niko's is surprisingly delish!
