Day One

Tuesday, December 11, 2012
Houston, I've arrived! The move to Texas has been completed and we survived day 1 of living with my parents. Yes, we are living with my parents because I have no set plans. All I know is that I want a practice, a house and a baby. I knew I didn't want that in DC so the first step in my master plan was to move home, so we did. Ok, now here we are. Time to make life happen. I feel like an aspiring actor who just moved to LA with great hopes and dreams except I moved to Houston with not a clue on what to do next. Thankfully V has a job and everyone has been very kind and generous. Do you know you get gifts and money when you move away? I had no idea!

I was in billboard shock once we crossed into Tennessee. I don't remember ever seeing a billboard in Northern Virginia. I didn't take many pics since I was the co-pilot on this mission and taking pics from inside the Penske truck didn't seem that appealing.  Most of the billboards involved meth.  Governor Haslam launched a state wide anti-meth campaign in April.  Read here for more details.

We stopped overnight in Chattanooga and the next day we stopped in Birmingham for 3 hours to watch the Redskins.  Thankfully they won or else I would have been really upset.  We landed on my parent's door step at 1:34 AM.

I have a business meeting and an interview set up for Thursday and in my little head I have the perfect outfit. Wish us luck and we'll keep you posted.

Kisses!

And now the random pics . . .

Hills

The grass really is greener on the other side!

Alabama, where the speed limit  goes from 70 MPH to 55 MPH right when you cross state line to ticket you!  Thankfully we knew better.

Drive safely!

Bucket List

A friend of mine once told me that adopting a baby was on her bucket list. I was like whaaaa? That sounds more like a life's mission or a dream or a goal even. It's like me saying: I want to stop world hunger. That doesn't belong on a bucket list.  That's a lifetime's work.

My bucket list doesn't include anything fancy like climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. My friend TS accomplished that already and I chose to live vicariously through him. He showed me pictures. Good enough for me.

I never really thought about the idea of a bucket list until I read a fellow blogger's bucket list (read here) and I felt inspired!

Here goes . . . in no particular order.

1. Visit the Great Sphinx and the pyramids of Giza.  Mission accomplished October 2009.

2. Float in the Dead sea.

3. Travel to Switzerland and purchase a Tag Heuer and eat Emmental cheese (real swiss cheese).

4. Visit London and reenact scenes from Bridget Jones' Diary. Particularly the one of her out in the snow in her underwear.

5. Visit London and reenact scenes from Love Actually during Christmas time.

6. Go on an African Safari.

7. Visit the Grand Canyon. I've never been!

8. Go on every Duck Tour in the USA.

9. Ride a donkey up the cliff in Santorini. Mission accomplished October 2009.

10. Go to a world cup.

11. Travel to Paris, smoke cigarettes, eat patisseries, buy a Chanel something from a vintage shop and make love to the view of the Eiffel tower.

12. Learn to play an instrument.

13. Learn to speak Greek.

14. Go on a mission!

15. Meet Karl Lagerfeld.

16. Go to a Garth Brooks concert.

That's all I can think of for now. I'll keep you posted!

She's just not that into you

Monday, December 3, 2012
Maybe she is but probably not. Over the weekend I went out for a friend's birthday.  All my friends are super hot so it was no surprise that a surplus of men were ogling after them.

A good looking male approached the group and asked: who are the married girls and who are the fun girls? Now I have to say I was a little annoyed because one you are implying married women aren't fun or you're implying that the "fun girls" are DTF. Thanks Jersey Shore for the reference. Now, I'd like to clarify a few things.

Just because you are married doesn't mean you can't have fun and two just because you're single doesn't mean you're looking to get "laid". K? Most girls like to go to the bar/club to have fun.  That's it.  The creepiest thing is when you see that one lonesome guy at the club.  You know the one who is there by himself standing behind a large group of women.   I always feel bad for him.

Here are a few clues to tell whether she's into you or not . . .

1. If she's avoiding eye contact she's not into you. That includes looking around the room and not facing you when you're talking to her. It also includes looking away and tilting her ear towards you.
2. If she's looking for her friends she's not into you.
3. If she's trying to get the attention of her friend standing next to her she's not into you.
4. If she's not smiling or laughing at your jokes she's not into you.
5. If she's ignoring you she's not into you.
6. If she tells you she's going to the restroom do not offer to escort her . . . she's not into you.
7. If she lets out a loud sigh she's not into you.
8. If she's responding with one word answers she's not into you.
9. If she tells you she can't hear you she's not into you.  This is true if I'm really into a guy I pretend like I can hear everything he's saying.
10. If she keeps saying "uh-huh" she's not into you.
11. If she's holding her friends arm or hand she's not into you.

I know these seem pretty obvious but trust me my friend kept grabbing my hand and this guy wouldn't get it.  I finally had to pretend like we were leaving.  Five minutes later he approached someone else in the group.  Whomp Whomp  Most guys I meet out are pretty nice though.  Some of them.

I don't know many couples who met at clubs or bars.  Most couples I know met at school, work or through a mutual friend.  So if you really want to pick up "chicks" I recommend you enroll at a few classes at your local community college.  You'll get your learn on and your freak on.  Missy Elliot.  Peace!

And now the pics . . . .  I kept it super casual this weekend

Friday's OOTD: Top BCBG similar style found here.  Snake print coated jeans: J. Brand.  The jeans are sold out online but I know for a fact Last Call Studio in the Mosaic town center in Merrifield, VA carries them and they are on sale for $99.  Similar style found here.  Shoes: Enzo Angiolini "Tanen" pump

Saturday's OOTD Rag and bone pull over with suede paneling.  This has to be my favorite piece.  I bought at OFF Fifth in Orlando.  Similar Rag and Bone found here.  Bottom: Hue lacquer leggings.  Shoes: Christian Louboutin Arborina.  Budget friendly version here.

My photog wasn't out on Friday.  I had to resort to phone pics!
